Underwater Welding Schools
If you love the water, underwater welding may be a career option for you. Underwater welders perform
installation and repairs of such things as aging bridges, nuclear power plants, vessels and pipelines.
Most agree that the most important part of underwater welding is all the steps that lead up to the actual
welding, thus becoming a certified commercial diver is usually a first step. Below are several underwater welding
schools you might wish to consider:
Diver's Academy
International
Located in southern New Jersey minutes from Atlantic City, Divers Academy International (The Academy) offers a
comprehensive program that prepares and places commercial divers around the world. The program is five-months long,
providing graduates with multiple high-level certifications and hundreds of clock hours of experience combined with
classroom training. The program includes classes on commercial scuba, dive tending, underwater projects, underwater
cutting and welding, salvage, bridge inspections, underwater photography, and hazardous waste operations and
emergency response, to name just a few. You can see that their program would prepare students for all different
types of underwater diving careers, including underwater welding.
